Karate

Karate combines movement, discipline, concentration and confidence. It can be both a physical activity and a structured learning experience.

Karate activities are currently available through The Union Club.

What karate builds

  • Focus

Learning a sequence of movements asks for attention and memory, on the mat and off it.

  • Discipline and respect

Karate training traditionally begins and ends with a bow, and respect for others runs through every session.

  • Fitness

Stances, kicks and strikes build strength, balance and flexibility over time.

  • Confidence

Steady progress, one skill at a time, helps children and adults feel surer of themselves.
